Minerva McGonagall grew up in a seemingly ordinary British family before becoming one of the most respected teachers at Hogwarts. Although we do not know the specific year of her birth, we do know that she was born on October 4. Already at a young age, she began to display the extraordinary magical abilities that she inherited from her mother. She was a half-blood witch whose father did not know about the magical world until her daughter was born. At 11, like all wizards, she received a letter of admission to the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and began her education.
The assignment hat for exactly 5.5 minutes hesitated which house to assign the young witch to. As with Hermione Granger, the choice was Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. Ultimately, however, the tiara decided to place Minerva in the Gryffindor house. It quickly turned out that she had an enormous magical talent, and her transmutation was particularly good, which was itself one of the most difficult areas of magic. She was also the prefect and then the chief prefect of her home. She also obtained the highest results in passing exams. She also joined the Quidditch team, but in the last game before graduation, she was brutally fouled by one of the Slytherins. After this event, she had a grudge against Slytherin and dreamed that Gryffindor could win the cup again.
After graduating from school, she stayed at Hogwarts, but eventually decided to transfer to the Ministry of Magic, where she worked in the Wizarding Law Enforcement Department. She spent two years there, but not being satisfied with her position, she returned to Hogwarts to devote herself permanently to the education of young wizards. She was an extremely strict teacher, but held in great respect. She taught Transfiguration, her favorite school subject. She was also (one of the few registered in England) Animagus – she could turn into a gray cat.
Neither did the non-verbal spells or the patronus spell bother her. She was the only character in the whole saga who was able to conjure up 3 patronuses in front of the reader. She could read ancient runes and excelled in magical duels. Even in her infancy, she was able to use magic to manipulate a cat and summon baby toys to her crib.
Although she was demanding of her students, she surrounded them with great care and commitment. She was the caretaker of Gryffindor as well as the deputy director – Albus Dumbledore. Following the successful Battle of Hogwarts and the defeat of Voldemort, Minerva McGonagall eventually took over as director. She is also a Lady of the Order of Merlin, First Class – the most prestigious award in the Wizarding World.
