The long-awaited fourth installment in a landmark movie franchise that revolutionized its genre! In ths new movie, actors from the previous parts return – Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss – in the roles of the famous characters Neo and Trinity. The Matrix: Ressurections will debut on 4K ULTRA HD, Blu-ray ™ and DVD on March 25th.
The Matrix: Ressurections is an exciting return to the world of intertwined realities: everyday life and the latter – a reality hidden under the surface. Thomas Anderson, Neo’s alter ego, no longer knows whether his world is real or whether he has been fooled by simulations. To find out about it, he will have to penetrate deeply into himself and once again follow the white rabbit into the unknown. And if Neo has learned anything from experience, he knows that this decision, while only an illusion, is the only way out of the Matrix. Of course, he knows exactly what to do. But what he doesn’t realize is that the Matrix is now stronger, more stable, and more dangerous than ever before.
More than twenty years after the premiere of the first film in the cult series, in the well-known dystopian world, we can see the same familiar faces again. Alongside Keanu Reeves, who portrays a much older and a bit more life-tired Neo, there is also Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, now introducing herself as Tiffany.
It was lovely seeing them again in this movie. They’re the perfect age to tell this story right now. Actually, we are all – says the director of the film, Lana Wachowski. In a few years it would not be possible anymore, a few years ago the end result would not have been so important, but now everything seems to be at the perfect moment. When Keanu says in the film that it seems to him that everything he has done in his life did not matter, a question arises in the viewer that will bother him until the last scenes. Because at some point in your life you start asking yourself what is real. And what really matters is becoming more and more elusive – he explains.
When writing the script for her latest film, Lana Wachowski focused on bringing the love story to the fore. In such a dehumanized world, it is this human feeling that seems to be the only form of escape to freedom. So when dreams become more and more mixed with reality and even the blue pills prescribed by the therapist do not help to keep calm, the answer to Neo’s problems may be the woman who unconsciously passes by in the cafe every day. Re-meeting with Trinity, just like years ago, becomes the beginning of a difficult road to the truth.
When I read the script, I immediately thought it was a beautiful love story and I felt it was very relevant at the same time , ”says Keanu Reeves. As with the previous parts of “The Matrix”, which seemed to me a warning signal to society, but also incredibly inspiring films, I feel that “Resurrection” is a story tailored to our time and I hope that it will be as inspiring as previous images.
As always, the Matrix moves viewers not only through its narrative, but also visually impressive. Amazing special effects and music complement the picture of the dystopian reality of previous movies fantastically, and the fight choreographies continue to impress. Obviously, there are numerous references to older movies here, but The Resurrection Matrix has ambitions far higher than being a typical sequel. This means that by watching this film we can experience the story with equal force, regardless of the level of knowledge of the film world of the Matrix .
