Masako Nozawa (野 沢 雅子, Nozawa Masako , born October 25, 1936) is a Japanese television and voice actress from Tokyo. She has been associated with Production Baobab, 81 Produce and Office Nozawa throughout her life. Currently she is associated with Aoni Production. Her husband, Masaaki Tsukada, was also a voice actor.
As a voice actress, she is best known for her role as Goku in the cult anime series Dragon Ball , as well as all of Goku’s male relatives except Raditz as well as two mergers – Gotenks and Vegetto, and in the role of Goku Black. She also voiced Tetsuro Hoshino ( Galaxy Express 999 ) and Kitaro ( GeGeGe no Kitaro , first and second series). She also voiced Doraemon in the 1973 anime, replacing male actor Kōsei Tomit, who portrayed the character in the first 26 episodes. In total, as a voice actress, she has over 20 roles to her credit. Nozawa made her film debut at the age of 3. She has played numerous male roles in her career as a voice actress, prompting Japanese fans to nickname her ” The Eternal Boy.“. Currently, however, she prefers the roles of older women, although from time to time she plays other roles (including young boys). On April 1, 2006, she resigned from 81 Produce and founded the Nozawa office. In 2010, Nozawa closed her Talent Agency. A number of voice actors who were associated with her agency had affiliated with Media Force.
