The title, announced in August, initially sparked a lot of interest among fans. The spectacular trailer showing the focus on the paranormal and magic side of the Marvel universe, with a cover of the song Enter Sandman, made a great impression. In addition, the announcement that Firaxis Games and 2K will be responsible for the game caught the attention of many Internet users. The enthusiasm subsided a bit when some time later during the gameplay presentation it turned out that the production will be largely based on tactical fights with the use of skill cards.
The plot of the game tells about the fight of the title team Midnight Suns with the demonic Lilith. The being is awakened by the Hydra organization and intends to release the hellish hosts into the world. The heroes, to gain an advantage in the upcoming fight, bring back to life a descendant of Lilith called Hunter. This character will be created by players and developed according to their preferences.
