One of the most famous comic book mutants will soon receive a completely new incarnation. As part of the announcement of the next comics “What if …?” Marvel presented the first graphic with Wolverin.
The latest version of the hero is significantly different from those we have seen so far. One of the first features that catches the eye are the four claws sticking out of both hands of the character. Besides, she has a dark complexion, a slim build, and the costume is black and red with a hoodie.
Marvel tries to experiment heavily with the image of a superhero. Until now, several different characters had the nickname Wolverine, but always some elements of appearance were always the same. The X-23 differs most from the original – that is James Howlett – but even it kept the iconic colors of the suit (yellow-black-blue or black-gray from X-Force) and also has three claws, but only two in the hand and one each in feet. No details are available yet about the story behind the new character, but the publisher promises to reveal more information soon.
The first comic in the What If…? Series . appeared in 1977. Each notebook told a story from an alternate reality where details differed, and the characters often took on roles different from those of the main universe. The comics from this series debuted in the West for the last time in 2018. The new title will appear in March next year.
