Everyone says I’m the best… but I don’t feel that way , says Wolverine in a leak announcing Marvel’s Predator-Wolverine clash. “Not now. Now I’m the prey.”
A bloodbath in an extraordinary fusion of the Marvel and Predator worlds !
Marvel on Thursday revealed a new take on Predator versus Wolverine , showing a bloodied Logan as the prey of trophy hunter Yautji. As part of a rite of transformation for his species, the young Yautja sets out to earn the rank of Bloody – a ritual that could end decades of hunting, with only one condition – Wolverine must not survive.
The official description of the comic reads as follows:
THE THRILL IS THE KILL! The bloody saga you’ve been waiting for! Wolverine lived one of the longest and most tumultuous lives in Marvel comics history. Now watch the greatest battle of Logan’s life – against the Predator! One of the Yautja hunts for the biggest loot there is – and finds it deep within Weapon X’s lairs. From the bloody snows of the Canadian wilderness to the streets of Madripor, Wolverine and the Predator destroy everything in their path in their quest for ultimate victory…or glorious death.
The work of chance or the calling of the universe?
I will never say that I was born to create something like this… but sometimes the universe reveals what you were made to do. I’m a kid of the eighties. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched Predator , any more than I can tell you how many Wolverine comics I’ve read, because that would be like telling you how many times I’ve breathed or how many cheeseburgers I’ve eaten. The myths of both are so deeply ingrained in me that they could be like strands of DNA or scraps of the soul. The guns, claws, fights, and blood of both franchises have been boiling in my mind since 1987, when I would fall asleep reading piles of Marvel comics every day , and my friends and I would play Predator in the woods and by the river in our neighborhood with Nerf guns.
Wolverine writer Benjamin Percy said in a statement announcing the series .
Benjamin is also the creator of the just-announced Sabretooth War , a 10-episode epic Wolverine saga for the mutant’s 50th birthday in 2024.
The first issue of Predator Vs. Wolverine will be released on September 20. We hope that the surprising combination of legendary heroes will be a great rarity for fans of comics and, above all, the predatory wolverine character .
