If you are interested in manga and would like to learn more, incl. about the history of this art, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the project "Mangaka - a sketch of life in Tokyo".
Mangaka – a sketch of life in Tokyo is a documentary project about people who want to live from their passion, about how manga is created and what its history is against the background of the fascinating Japanese culture. The profession of mangaka – comic book cartoonist is often low-paid and requires a lot of sacrifice. Young artists have to work in a corporation during the day to create manga at night. But these are the problems of all people trying to reconcile passion with the need to earn. You can see the production trailer below (the material is in Japanese, make sure you have the subtitles turned on).
A similar problem to the one faced by young manga artists was also faced by the authors of the film. For the production to be fully realized, financial aid is needed and this is where you can enter. On the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform, there is a collection in which anyone can support the creation of the painting. Each donation counts, and if you additionally donate one of the amounts listed on the fundraising page, you can also count on quite attractive prizes. The action will last until December 27.
