The information was included in the last issue of the Sankei Shimbun magazine and is to be confirmed in the upcoming 10th issue of Big Comics , which will be available this Sunday. The 83-year-old manga author Takao Saito decided to suspend Golgo 13, together with his associates Saito Production and the editors of the Big Comics magazine , where the manga is published. The reason for the decision is the inability to continue work on Golgo 13 in the current pandemic conditions, especially since the production team consists of only 10 people. Mr. Saito explains that all employees are equally important to the manga process, so he prefers to be sure that they will be safe.
Thus, the publishing regularity of the oldest manga in the Japanese press was upset. The last, 196th volume of the manga was released on April 3, and on May 1, Golgo 13 “Pandemic” was released , which is a compilation of three old chapters related to bioterrorism. Fans will be forced to wait for the COVID-19 situation to stabilize for future numbers.
