Acer is increasingly expanding its offering of gaming products. In addition to laptops, there are also more additional accessories.
Predator Cestus 500
I must admit right away that it is one of the most comfortable mice I have ever used. My hands are quite large, but I had no problems using it. The comfort of communing with a rodent is additionally improved by side panels that can be configured to meet your individual needs. We can mount two attachments to the mouse to improve the comfort of the hand position. They can also be easily disassembled, because they are attached with magnets. Due to its construction, the device will also be perfect for left-handed people who will feel the same comfort of use as right-handed ones.
For some players, the Cestus 500’s drawback may be too few buttons (especially in MMORPG games), the rest should not feel their absence. The possibilities of configuring the equipment according to your preferences are at a very high level. In addition to the previously mentioned detachable panels, there is an option to set the sensitivity for the right and left buttons separately. Each key can be assigned up to three functions, and their activation depends on the number of clicks or their length. The mouse speed can also be changed with a separate button (up to 7200 DPI). For people who want to control every detail, there are also other settings, e.g. reduction of cursor vibration. In addition, there is also an option to change the color of the lighting of individual elements.
The mouse looks very good and its design is reminiscent of Predator computers, which it will fit like a glove. It has a smooth surface and is pleasant to touch. The Cestus 500 is a wired device which makes it lightweight. For some, the disadvantage may be the inability to increase the weight of the mouse with special weights. The 1.8m cable itself should also be sufficient for comfortable use. I believe that the Acer product is a great solution for any gamer. Especially for those who like to configure the equipment for themselves.
Predator Galea 300
When we decide to buy headphones for gaming, there are a few things to consider. How far are we from the monitor or TV while playing? Are the headphones well-fitted and comfortable to use for a long time? What do they sound and look like? The Galea 300 headphones, like the mouse discussed above, connect to the computer via a 1.8m long cable with a 3.5mm MiniJack plug. The equipment seems to be made for those with bigger heads. Due to the fact that I have one myself, it was sometimes difficult for me to find comfortable headphones. The Galea 300 comes with a self-adjusting headband and leather earpieces that completely cover the ears. I could use them for a few hours without any discomfort.
The sound in the headphones itself sounded clear and without any distortions thanks to the TrueHarmony technology used. 40mm diaphragms and drivers with a rubber border also contribute to the improvement of sound quality, especially noticeable in online shootings. The headphones seem to be solidly made and I suspect that their simple and elegant design will appeal to most users. Despite the fact that the Galea 300 is equipment designed for players, as a music fan, I had to check them also in this respect. While listening, they sounded decent, but in my opinion, a bit more bass could be used. This does not reduce their value in any way, as they were not designed for this purpose.
Summary
The Predator Cestus 500 mouse and the Predator Galea 300 headphones, as products designed for gamers, do their job very well. The mouse configuration options deserve a special mention, thanks to which each player will adjust it to their own preferences. Both devices are comfortable to use even for many hours and, despite their simple appearance, they can be liked. If you are currently looking for gaming accessories and you do not want to spend too much money, it is worth taking an interest in the above-mentioned devices. Acer’s decision to create non-computer hardware has paid off.
The equipment for testing was provided by the Acer PR agency.
