Cast of Shazam! Fury of the Gods grows stronger. After announcing that Helen Mirren will play a brand new character, DC has now revealed the name of another popular actress. She will play the antagonist well-known to comic book fans.
Lucy Liu will play Kalypso in Shazam! Fury of the Gods . This version of the character will be the sister of the Hespera, played by the aforementioned Helen Mirren. Both characters will be production villains. Along with them, rising star Rachel Zegler is also a new face in the sequel.
All three actresses will join returning Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman and Grace Fulton as young heroes in their “civilian” versions. Their heroic characters will again be played by Zachary Levi, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, DJ Cotrona, Meagan Good, and Michelle Borth.
Last year’s DC Fandome director David F. Sandberg revealed that the sequel’s antagonists will be quite unexpected and will surprise viewers. During that event, he also revealed the greater role of the protagonist’s family in the fight against evil.
At the moment, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is expected to hit theaters in June 2023.
