“Living with a Chucky doll” – a horror from the other side!

Cinedigm and Bloody Disgusting have released the first trailer for their upcoming horror documentary Living with Chucky,  a new movie that expands on a 30-year-old film franchise. Written and directed by Kyra Elise Gardner, daughter of legendary special effects artist Tony Gardner (who also played Chucky in several parts). The film will explore the origins and legacy of the horror franchise, interviewing many of the key creators who have contributed to the franchise since its inception.

The film will include Don Mancini , producer David Kirschner, as well as stars Alex Vincent, Billy Boyd, Christine Elise McCarthy, John Waters, Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif and of course her dad – Brad Dourif. The film will premiere on the streaming service SCREAMBOX and on all major digital platforms on April 4 in the US and Canada.

The official description of the documentary reads as follows: ” Living with a Chucky doll is an in-depth look at the groundbreaking Child’s Play series from the perspective of the filmmaker who grew up with it. Featuring interviews with cast and crew including Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, creator Don Mancini and many more. This personal film is about the creativity and dedication that went into creating the franchise, as well as its long-lasting impact on the horror community. The horror film spawned six sequels, a TV series, comic books, a video game, and merchandise.”

I feel incredibly grateful. I mean, as a horror fan, I’ve dreamed all my life of creating a horror character that would be embraced as much as Chucky. It excites me a lot. The older I get, the more grateful I am. I’m a big fan of Chucky and a big fan of Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilley. I’m happy to help them create this material. May they continue to do what they are supposed to do.
