Lily Collins began her career with a bang, from an early age achieving nothing but success. Her life, however, was not as colorful as it might seem.
She was born on March 18, 1989 in Great Britain. The origin of the actress heralded the upcoming professional successes from the very beginning – her mother, an American, was the president of Beverly Hills’ Women’s Club, and her father was Phil Collins, the famous singer. No wonder that Lily made her screen debut at the age of two, appearing on the BBC series Growing Pains . After her parents divorced, she moved to the United States, where she graduated in Radio, Television and Multimedia Journalism from the University of Southern California.
Initially, she intensively developed her journalistic career, writing as a teenager for magazines such as Elle Girl, Seventeen, Teen Vogue and the Los Angeles Times. As a reporter, she also appeared on the Nickelodeon children’s station as part of the Kids Pick the President program , part of the 2008 presidential campaign.
In 2007, she received an invitation from the Chanel fashion house itself to a charity ball at the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris as one of the models. A year later, the Spanish edition of Glamor magazine named the actress International Model of the Year, and soon Lily Collins appeared on its cover.
Currently, she is best known for the title role in the series Emily in Paris , but she also showed her skills well in productions such as Snow White , where she also played the main role, and Gifts of Angel: City of Bones , playing the role of Clara Fray. She also appeared in the film Tolkien , playing Edith Bratt.
Despite all the successes of the actress, her life was not easy. In her teens, she struggled with eating disorders, setting herself diets that were restrictive and devastating for the body. This led to anorexia which she suffered from for several years of her life. She also struggled with the impostor syndrome, not believing that she deserved all the good that happened to her. As she said herself, she recovered not only thanks to the therapy she started at a critical moment, but also thanks to the support she received from her loved ones, especially her partner. Thanks to this, she was able to close a painful chapter for herself and believe in her own abilities, and in recent years she has even gained nominations for such prestigious awards as Golden Globes.
