A Goralik creation
Venisana is divided into two cities – Veniskayl and Veniswait, which on the one hand are very similar to each other, on the other – they are much divided. Veniskayl is above, Veniswait is below, under the water. In the first city live flesh-and-blood people, in the second city bird-like gabos and those who never came out. Drowned. Jellyfish. One day Agata, a girl whose story we learn in the book, unfortunately (and not through her fault) falls into the water. That one moment changes her life forever. Getting to know Veniswait, he discovers that truth always lies in the middle and not everyone is able to discover it.
You won’t look back
As we learn from the story, in Venisan, children under the age of twelve cannot walk the streets of the city on their own. Instead, the babysitters tie them to each other with a rope, line them up and watch over them as if evil is lurking around every corner. Boarding school is also an attempt to isolate the youngest, which allows you to have control over their decisions. And yes, it is dangerous. There are channels, and in them… there is something unexplored, a reflection of what is real and, as it turns out, impenetrable. The legends that someone fell into the water and never got out of it, or that he fell ill with the iris seem to be true. Linor Goralik, author of the Cold Waters of Venisana, she created original works (k) o, reading which will surely keep you awake at night. The book is less than two hundred pages long (note how big the font is!), So reading it in a few hours is possible! Anyway, the way the world was created will surely delight you. Fortunately, a sequel has been announced, which I am looking forward to.
Work of art
The book cover is a unique work of art. It heralds what is inside – darkness, secrets and plot nooks. The city we see on the mentioned cover is extraordinary and, as is to be expected, full of dangers. It is true that the book contains a few typos and unnecessary repetitions, but it does not make reading too difficult. The story told draws the reader into this peculiar world, and the creation of the main character – Agata – shows the audience how important it is to believe in one’s own abilities. Reality is never one-dimensional, even if we only have this version of truth in our environment.
