Find as much gold as possible
The mechanics of the game, as well as its goal, are very simple. The creators suggest that the youngest player should be over six years old, the maximum number of people participating in the game is five people, and the time needed – a little over fifteen minutes. In a metal, compact box there is an instruction and 69 cards (yes, 69 in a small box!): 24 gold cards (5 cards worth “1”, 7 cards worth “2”, 7 cards worth “3”, 5 cards with a value of “4”), 35 seeker cards (two cards each with a value of “2”, “3”, “4”, one each with a value of “5” in five suits), and 5 dynamite cards. During the game, players take on the role of gold prospectors, a precious metal that can be found in the last active mine in the Golden Mountains.
Discover two cards and enjoy the wealth
The mechanics of the game, as already mentioned, are very simple. Each player chooses one mine card of any color and places it faceup in front of him. Each color has an assigned character card that is revealed during the game. The youngest starts the game, then the player on the left continues the game.
In one turn, each player turns any two cards from the table face up. Depending on which of them were flipped, there are three possible situations: the seeker has found gold with a value equal to or greater than the value of the face up gold card (in which case he has enough strength to take barrels out of the mine), a prospector duel (the seeker with more value wins) and dynamite, which removes two cards from the game. The search continues if the player reveals two player cards of the same value, two gold cards, or a seeker card and a higher value gold card. The game ends when there are no cards left on the table. The players add the values on their gold cards, and the player with the most points wins. In case of a tie, the person with the most gold cards wins; if the tie remains
In a few words
The game for two people will be slightly different – each participant will receive two mines. If we are playing in a larger group and at the beginning of the turn there are ten or fewer cards facedown, shout “Gold rush!”. In this situation, the rules of the game change – players only reveal one card, not two. The reviewed game is based on a simple memo-type mechanism – remember the arrangement of cards on the table and use it on your turn. The rules of the game are very simple, which makes the card game an ideal proposition for a party. In addition, it is very handy, so it fits in any pocket.
