SyFy station sent another comic production to "ax".
Just days after the second season finale was broadcast, SyFy decided not to extend the series Krypton . According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the reason for this decision was a drastic drop in viewership. For the first season, an average of 1.8 million viewers watched the series. The second series, unfortunately, did not do so well and the average dropped to four hundred thousand. Not wanting to risk a further deterioration of the result, SyFy made the safest decision for itself to cancel production.
The second victim of this decision was also the spin-off of Krypton . The series dedicated to the character of Lobo did not even have time to enter the production phase. If you were counting on more of this space mercenary in the acting version, unfortunately for now you have to be patient and hope that someone will take over the project. The representative of the Czarnian race, played by Emmett J. Scanlan, made his debut in the second season of Krypton .
However, there is hope for fans of Superman and his family. Deadline reports that producers from Warner Horizon are already looking for a new home for Seg-El’s adventures. No specifics yet, but the obvious directions may be the streaming services of DC Universe or HBO Max (both belonging to the Warner group).
Krypton is already the third ongoing comic book series to be canceled by SyFy this year. Previously, the School of Killers and Happy! . The future of Wynonny Earp is also uncertain . Work on the fourth season was postponed due to financial problems not directly related to SyFy.
