Sony has released the first trailer for its latest movie based on the Marvel comics. Kraven promises to be a brutal experience.
The trailer reveals some important plot elements. We already know the protagonist’s motivation and who will become the main target of his hunt. Several of Kraven’s adversaries were also shown, including a first look at Spider-Man’s other iconic nemesis, Rhino.
The creators of the film decided on several unusual solutions regarding the story and the main character. The protagonist, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, will not be just a trained hunter. Kraven in this production will acquire superhuman powers after his blood mixed with lion’s. Probably some other factor will be added to it (e.g. magic), but it has not been revealed yet. Also, the decision to make his hunt motivated by revenge is at odds with how Sergei Kravinoff is most often portrayed (both in comics and other media). It remains to be hoped that the implementation of these ideas will result in sensible production.
Kraven the Hunter will be Sony’s fourth Spider-Man movie. So far, two parts of Venom and Morbius have been released . These productions have so far met with a mixed reception from viewers. The image with Jared Leto, who is still the object of ridicule on the web, has done the worst so far. Currently, work is underway on another project related to the spider man – Madame Web .
Kraven the Hunter will hit theaters in October this year.
