On the eve of the premiere of the new anime adaptation of Hiroyuki Takei’s work, we got to know the Megumi Hayashibara theme song – Soul Salvation .
The first to gain access to the series will be users of Japanese Netflix. The broadcast is scheduled for April 1, 2021 at 12:00 Polish time. Then, the King of Shamans will gradually be hosted by other TV stations, including the Polish Netflix platform.
The new version of the Shaman King anime series will be an adaptation of all 35 manga volumes by Hiroyuki Takei. The previous edition of the animation did not contain the full story, so we can expect even more episodes compared to the 2001 version.
The plot of the King of Shamans is based on the fight for the crown of the title king. Warriors from all over the world compete in the Shaman Tournament every five hundred years. However, they are not ordinary people – they are shamans, or, as the main character explains, “a link with the afterlife”. They have extraordinary powers that are activated especially when they connect with their Guardian Spirit, remaining in the spirit’s control with it. The main character of both the manga and the anime is thirteen-year-old Yoh Asakura, a descendant of a family respected in the world of shamans. He was always trained by his grandfather, an eminent master, Yohmei, to fight for the throne of the king of shamans one day. Eventually, the Tournament is announced and Yoh fights more fights against his opponents, earning a harmonious pack of friends. During the next round, Asakura learns about further secrets from his family. One of them, the most important, will determine his fate. It turns out that his true destiny is to defeat the sinister Hao, who threatens the mortal world.
Will the new Shaman King gain as much popularity as his predecessor 20 years ago? We’ll find out soon!
