Kevin Feige Announces New MCU Prequels After “Black Widow”

Marvel’s Black Widow  has not yet had its debut on the cinema screens, and the president of the MCU has already announced the next productions set before the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Before Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson, received her own movie, her fate was sealed in the memorable  Avengers: Endgame. Due to the tightly respected continuity of the MCU events, the Black Widow  story had to be set in a time before what happened to Romanoff in the 2019 movie. Because, as the Mad Titan himself said, “There is no resurrection this time.” There are no signs of resurrection in the Marvel universe, but there are no obstacles to making the Endgame prequels  And there are many indications that this will happen.

The first film fully devoted to the title Black Widow – the prequel of Captain America: Wars of Heroes and Avengers: Wars Without Borders , became the gateway for the next productions of this type. During the press conference, Marvel Studios CEO Kevin Feige admitted that we can expect prequels on other champions if their appearance is warranted in the Marvel timeline:

Certainly, this movie and story are special cases for Natasha. But the idea of discovering the MCU’s past, present, and future is embedded in every character. This particular story is very personal and specific to the main character.

The Black Widow’s premiere is scheduled for July 9. The film with a star cast, including Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz, David Harbor and William Hurt, was directed by Cate Shortland ( Salto, Lore ). One of its producers is the starring actress herself, Johansson.
