The premiere is set for February 24, 2023, which means it will be released roughly three years after the original release date. Kerbal Space Program 2 was initially scheduled for 2020, but there were several postponements to the date. The game will be released on PCs via the Epic Games Store, Steam and other platforms, Private Division explains.
The trailer coincided with the release date and developers’ commentary on the creation of the early access version of the game. On the official website of Kerbal Space Program 2 you will also find information about what materials will be released and when. But why is Early Access needed at all? This question is not answered by the developers’ FAQ.
More than anything else, we look forward to rebuilding, flying, crashing and flying players! The basic pillar of KSP2 is building and flying cool rockets. While we have additional content planned in the form of colonies, interstellar travel and multiplayer, first we want to hear fan feedback on their experience with the core of the game. We believe that breaking down KSP2’s early access will ultimately allow us to build a better game through dialogue with our community.
– proclaims the FAQ Private Division.
Early Access is expected to remain active until the full version is released. It also means an increase in price – at the beginning we will buy the game for $ 49.99, but if we buy version 1.0 we will pay more. Console players are asked for patience, as they want to finish the PC version first. Private Division assures console players that “console versions will gain a lot thanks to the fixes introduced during early access”.
