It’s already certain that Keanu Reeves will return to the screens as John Constantine. The director confirmed this information, also sharing that he and Akiva Goldsman are currently developing a script.
Francis Lawrence revealed some details about the upcoming production in an interview with Brandon Davis to promote Slumberland :
We don’t have a script, but Keanu, me and Akiva, we all worked on the first one, we’ve been trying for years to make the next one. It was difficult because of DC Vertigo, who owns the rights to the character [Constantina – ed. red.] and who controls it, trying to find the right people to continue. We already have it and now we need history. We’ll be honored to take care of it.
Viewers had to wait almost twenty years for the continuation of the adventures of the title character. The first part was a great success and gained many fans, despite being a rather loose adaptation of DC comics .
