Jurassic World: Dominion – back on set soon?

The coronavirus crisis has hit the film industry hard. From studios that had to suspend work on their productions to cinemas unable to receive viewers. In some countries, the restrictions imposed have already been eased and the shooting will start soon, and the first major title to benefit from this is the next installment of the series about dinosaurs.

Universal is looking to resume work on Jurassic World: Dominion as soon as possible . This is to enable them to ease assembly restrictions in the UK. If all goes according to plan, shooting will start next month – July 6th. This way, it will be the first great production to return the cast and crew to the set.

Reducing restrictions on the British Isles does not mean that appropriate remedial measures will not be required. People working on the film who will fly in from abroad, such as the lead actors – Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard – will be examined before they set off, and after their arrival they will undergo a two-week quarantine.

In addition, appropriate security protocols will be applied. These include training for the cast and the film crew on COVID-19, supervision of a private medical facility, the presence of doctors and nurses on the set, isolation tents, points with hand disinfectants and special zones for currently filming. Only actors will be able to be on the set without face masks.

According to recent reports, all procedures are expected to cost Universal about five million dollars. This is definitely a better solution for the activities of the label and Pinewood Studios than further stagnation.

When the restrictions were introduced due to the pandemic, the shooting took only four weeks. This is not much, considering that the plan is spread over 20 weeks. There is still a lot of work to do before the cast and crew.
