Roberts was born on October 28, 1967 in Atlanta. At first, she did not think about an acting career at all, dreaming of working with animals as a veterinarian. At the age of 17, however, she changed her mind and abandoned her plans, going to New York, where she enrolled in an acting school and worked as a model.
She made her screen debut in 1986 opposite her brother Eric in Blood Red . The film, however, had a few issues, which premiered only two years later, and Roberts’s participation went unnoticed. After all, her career took off quite quickly. Already in 1990, she was nominated for an Oscar for her participation in Steel Magnolias . However, the role in Pretty Woman was a real success for her . Since the film’s premiere, Julia Roberts has been considered a true movie star. Though her roles were assessed differently by critics, the productions in which she performed were always of high quality.
She is known for films such as Notting Hill , where she played the role of Anna Scott or Eat Pray and Love , in which she starred as Liz Gilbert. Her participation in the film Erin Brockovich was awarded an Oscar in 2001. She was awarded the statuette in the category of the best leading actress. In 2012, she played the evil queen in Snow White , and a year later appeared in August in Osage County as Barbara Weston. These are, of course, only some of her roles. Fantasy fans will surely associate it with the movie Hook as well, where she played Tinkerbell. Throughout her career, the actress has received 14 awards and 46 nominations, with many more to come.
