Josh Hutcherson – the memorable Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games – is celebrating his birthday today. But he can be proud of this role not only.
Josh Hutcherson began his career at the age of 8, playing episodic roles in series and commercials. In 2008, he participated in the animations The Polar Express and Howl’s Moving Castle. I think he liked the fantastic atmosphere, because in the following years he took part in such productions as: Zathura – Cosmic Adventure (alongside Kristen Stewart, he was nominated for the Saturn Award), Bridge to Terabithia (for this film he received the Young Artist Award), Journey to interior of the Earth 3D (based on the novel by Jules Verne).
The real icing on the cake was the role in the Hunger Games. This tetralogy, based on the Suzanne Collins trilogy, has broken the bank. Josh appeared there as Peeta, partner of the main character Katniss in the title games. Young people, chosen from the districts, fight to the death using all available methods, and the winner can only be one … However, Peeta and Katniss will confuse the evil Snow … (Fun fact: you will believe that the Hunger Games are reading for class VI in the USA ?)
Hutcherson won numerous awards and nominations for his role as Peeta, including to MTV Movie Awards for Best Cast, Performance, Fight and Even a Kiss! He also got People’s Choice Awards for Best “Chemistry” on Screen!
Hutcherson recently starred in the Hulu series Future man, a production that mocks old school sci-fi cinema patterns, but with a hint of sentiment. Casting Josh as the hilarious role of a foolish … also Josh, but Futterman moving through time to save humanity was like hitting the jackpot with a knife (not even one, but 2.5 trillion knives … those who watched know what’s going on …). An interviewed actor in the program of Good Morning America, when asked:
… who would win the game, Peeta or Futterman?
replied the following:
Peeta, no doubt. Futterman can’t do anything right and has no physical skills.
Unfortunately, after three seasons, the series was abandoned.
Josh is also a director and an activist for the equal treatment of non-heteronormative people. He also likes to paint. His partner is the Spanish actress Claudia Traisac. We wish him even more fantastic roles. And who do you prefer? Peeta or Futterman?
