Jared Leto tells about the pleasure of acting alongside his adolescent idol Michael Keaton. We also got to know a few details about the relationship between Morbius, Spider-Man and Venom.
Jared Leto, who worked with Michael Keaton in the Spider-Man spinoff, Morbius called the former Batman actor “one of his favorites.”
During the production launch, Leto, who plays the eponymous living vampire, mentioned the pleasure of working with Keaton on his film and how he manages to connect with Marvel’s ongoing multi-world project between studios.
One of the great things about being part of a larger universe is that one minute you can let’s paint Easter eggs for it, and in another you can move to another reality and join some bigger party and surprise people again.
I couldn’t think of someone else I’d rather work with than Michael Keaton – he’s one of my favorites.

Keaton has been confirmed to reprise his role as Adrian Toomes / Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming in Morbius. The question of whether this Toomes is the same character remains unclear. The second trailer for Morbius seemingly suggested an alliance between Dr.Michael Morbius and Toomes at the latter’s request, but it was also established that the movie takes place on Venom ‘s Earth , which is not the same dimension as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This split was temporarily interrupted between Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Homein which Eddie Brock and Venom were briefly transported to the MCU by Doctor Strange’s spell before being dragged back into their own universe, leaving only a small drop of symbiote behind. Keaton has personally admitted that he finds the Sony-Marvel interdependence misleading when comparing such a distribution of events to someone who “explains quantum physics to me.”
First introduced in 1971 with The Amazing Spider-Man # 11, Morbius the Living Vampire has since turned from a villain to a returning anti-hero in the world of Spider-Man. His most notable adaptation so far has been Spider-Man: The Animated Series , but while the character likeness was accurately reproduced, his abilities were heavily altered due to the show’s young audience. As a result, Morbius was unable to drink human blood, instead sucking the plasma from their bodies with devices that looked like suckers on their hands. The movie Morbius , for a change, during the trailers, strongly emphasizes Morbius’ struggle to control bloodlust.
Keaton, famous for his role as Batman in Tim Burton’s 1989 blockbuster Batman and its sequel Batman Returns , will reprise his role as the older Bruce Wayne in DC The Flash . Keaton will also play Batman in the upcoming Batgirl movie , opposite Leslie Grace as the title character and the returning JK Simmons as her father, Commissioner Gordon. A recent series of photos revealed a glimpse of Keaton’s Batman costume that still resembles his costume from the Tim Burton films.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa , Morbius hits theaters on April 1.
