The question of whether or not to direct Thunderbolts was asked during Gunn’s Q&A on his Instagram coverage. One observer asked him if he would be interested in producing, to which he replied that DC’s newest Suicide Squad had fully satisfied his desire to work on an antihero film.
Anyway, there was no official announcement of the Thunderbolts screening from the MCU. These are only a guess and wish of the universe fans, which only got stronger after the premiere of the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The characters of Baron Zem and John Walker, played by Daniel Brühl and Wyatt Russell, stole the hearts of viewers and made many of them want to see them in the adaptation of the comic book Thunderbolts.
It is also a fact that the director certainly cannot complain about the lack of classes. Recently, Marvel Studios announced the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy, which is scheduled for release in 2023. James Gunn will be responsible for directing this part, like the previous two. Earlier, he also dealt with the aforementioned Suicide Legion and other obligations. He himself admitted:
Last year, I wrote over 500 pages of a script that will be filmed next year. I’m busy!
The suicide squad, the result of his work, will have its premiere this summer. A few years after the release of the first game, the sequel will bring together characters such as Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Viola Davis portrayed by Amanda Waller, and Jai Countney re-starring Captain Boomerang. The production will also feature actors such as Sylvester Stallone, David Dastmalchian, Steve Agee, John Cena, Pete Davidson and many others.
