Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that James Gunn and Peter Safran will jointly control DC Studios. They will oversee not only the further development of the DCEU, but also non-universe actor productions (such as The Batman and The Joker sequels ), animations, and television projects. They were also entrusted with the task of developing a long-term plan for the film adaptation of the comic books.
Both Gunn and Safran got to know the productions based on the adventures of DC characters well. The first gentleman entered the DCEU with a bang, first with The Suicide Squad and the movie’s series spinoff, Peacemaker . In addition, he is already working on another production, this time dedicated to the character of Amanda Waller. Safran has also worked on Gunn’s projects as producer and executive producer. Additionally, he was a producer on Aquaman and Shazama , both of which were very successful. He is also involved in the sequels of these films and the adaptation of the adventures of Blue Beetle.
Former DC Studios boss Walter Hamada recently resigned. The reason for this decision was the significant changes and cuts introduced after the Warner Bros. merger. and Discovery. Their victims were, among others Batgirl canceled in August this year. In this movie, we were to see Michael Keaton return to the role of the Dark Knight.
