The cast of “Borderlands” continues to grow. This time she was joined by an actor known, among others from the “Jumanji” sequels. He will play one of the brand’s mascots.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Black will play in the adaptation of Borderlands . The announcement came just two days after Jamie Lee Curtis joined the cast. The famous actor and rock musician will play the role of Claptrap. He is the first confirmed person not to appear in the film in person, but only give his voice to the character.
In Claptrap games, or in fact Claptrapy, they are clumsy robots prone to various faults and failures. They mainly serve as comedy indie characters. In Borderlands: The Presequel, for the first time, one of these hilarious machines was available as a playable hero.
The director Eli Roth and the head of the Lionsgate studio, Nathan Kahane, spoke about the casting of Black. Both agreed that this is the perfect person to play Claptrap. The gentlemen also admitted that they were excited to work with the actor. It will be the second joint production for Black and Roth. Before that, they met on the set of the painting The Clockwork of the Sorcerer .
In addition to Black and Jamie Lee Curtis, the film also features Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart. Pictures for Borderlands are to start this year in Hungary. The film’s release date remains unknown.
