Jacek Czyż first struggled with the consequences of a stroke, then with prostate cancer with bone metastases. Last year, his son organized a fundraiser for his father’s expensive treatment. Jacek Czyż died on July 24.
The famous voiceover and actor died a few days after his 67th birthday. Former Warsaw councilor Andrzej Golimont and his son Aleksander informed about his death online.

And just 5 days ago we celebrated his birthday. We agreed that “we will see each other soon”. It was supposed to look different “right now”.

In 2017, he suffered a stroke, and shortly afterwards he was diagnosed with prostate cancer with bone metastases. He also had trouble with his eyesight. Jacek Czyż had a low pension, which did not allow him to cover the costs of treatment. So a fundraiser was organized to support the actor. At that time, PLN 30,000 was collected – 10,000 more than expected.
He was known for lending his voice to, among others Tygrysek from movies and series with Winnie the Pooh , Rafiki in The Lion King , Mojo Jojo in The Powerpuff Girls , Tasmanian Devil in Looney Tunes or Flame in Beauty and the Beast . He also dubbed Pete (Black Peter) in the Polish version of Goofie na vacation or Argus Filch from the Harry Potter series .
