The new trailer came just after Warner Bros. announced an upcoming panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Attendees at the annual theater owners convention will be the first to screen The Flash in its entirety ahead of the film’s June 16 release in theaters.
Barry uses his superpowers to go back in time to change past events. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry finds himself trapped in a reality General Zod has returned to with the threat of annihilation. There are no superheroes he can turn to. That is, unless Barry can get a very different Batman to come out of retirement and rescue a trapped Kryptonian… though not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world he is and return to the future he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?
– we read in the description of the film
The mostly emotional aspects of the story were very fascinating to me. Of course, it’s a superhero movie, it’s a big spectacle adventure, but what really got me into it was the emotional power of it. There’s an emotional message to this story, and it’s also a story about time travel that’s always been very appealing to me. There is something about time travel that is inherently fascinating in general, but this one is very special because it is a very intimate conflict.
said director Andy Muschietti
Stimulating Barry in a race through time is his mission to save Nora Allen and Henry Allen: At the age of 9, Barry’s father was wrongly convicted of his mother’s murder. Ultimately, Muschietti said, The Flash is “about a boy who is looking for his mother and that’s what was so appealing to me – that emotional drive.”
Also starring are Antje Traue ( Man of Steel ) as Faora-Ul, Kiersey Clemons ( Zack Snyder’s Justice League ) as Iris West and Ben Affleck ( Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ) as Bruce Wayne/Home Reality Batman Barry’ ego.
The Flash hits theaters on June 16.
