The third volume of OKP Dolores concluded all threads and offered readers a satisfying finale. Will the continuation not spoil the positive impression made by the previous volumes of the series?
Mona is back
It’s been two years since my review of the third volume was published . For this reason, before I started the fourth volume of OKP Dolores,I went back to the previous three parts. I remembered the general outline of the plot, but I still enjoyed reading the trilogy about the adventures of the former space nun. After reading it, I was even more curious about the sequel, especially since I didn’t expect it at all! After the events of the third volume, Mony and two new companions crash land on an alien planet. Unfortunately, it turns out that it is inhabited by ruthless looters. And again the protagonist will be forced to fight for her life. Although in reality the stakes in the game are much higher, because the opponents have kidnapped her child. And that’s about it for the story. There is nothing revealing here, but the story draws you in from the very beginning. In the end, the heroes not only have to deal with unfriendly weather conditions on an alien planet full of unfriendly fauna, yet with meager resources, they have a whole band of ruthless looters against them. It is a pity that, as in the previous parts, such a powerful battleship as Dolores is controlled by only three heroes. Nevertheless, one must admit that they are expressive and interesting characters. Mony is a strong and courageous woman who not only struggles with the demons of her past, but also has to take care of her child. Tuco, a skilled mechanic and constructor, is a solid support for the commander Dolores. And the steadfast warrior who never gives up – Shael. Together they complement each other and work perfectly together. They are expressive and interesting characters. A beautiful snowy planet
Dider and Lysa Tarquin created a great script, and it’s impossible not to admire their line. I like alien designs or landscapes. Particular attention is drawn to the dynamic fight scenes. I enjoyed reading this comic with great pleasure, I was happy to hang my eye on some of the frames. I have no major complaints about the release, except that there is too little content here. The cover itself has much more volume. However, I have two comments about the content itself. First, if Mony knew Tuco’s robot was so solid, why was she afraid of accidentally hitting it with a pistol? I understand that its contents are priceless, but as long as the bullet doesn’t pierce its armor (you can see it in one of the frames)! Well, it’s a bit of a pity that heroes on a completely alien planet can easily talk to looters or their slaves. You see, in every galaxy, everyone speaks the same language. It is known that some simplifications are necessary, but still I would like to feel that the heroes actually came across some alien race.
Is it worth getting behind the wheel of Dolores again?
It was an exceptionally successful return to the world of space pirates. Although the fourth volume ends fully satisfactorily, leaving no unresolved threads, I can’t wait for the fifth part anyway. OKP Dolores is a solid piece of action comic set in outer space. Despite minor glitches, I am glad that I got to know this series and I will be happy to come back to it, and I will gladly reach for the next volumes!
