During the final day of D23 Expo, a huge Walt Disney Studios event, Disney + released a new teaser and art for Mickey: The Story of a Mouse . Jeff Maimberg’s documentary will appear on the streaming service on November 18, the birthday of the iconic mouse.
Mickey: The Story of a Mouse , directed by Jeff Malmberg, has already appeared at numerous film festivals. Below you can see the teaser of the document and read its description:
One of the most beloved characters in the world! Mickey Mouse is considered a symbol of joy and childish innocence. The character became a sensation overnight when she appeared in the first animated short film entitled Willie’s steamer. Over the decades, the hero has evolved into strikingly different versions of himself, reflecting both the remarkable career of his creator and the dramatic social changes in the nation he represented. Director Jeff Malmberg and Oscar-winning producer Morgan Neville explore the cultural significance of this nearly 100-year-old cartoon mouse. The documentary also includes the exclusive animated short Mickey in a Minute, created by the legendary cartoon team at Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Ninety-four years ago, Walt Disney created a mouse that has become one of the world’s most beloved characters. We are excited that everyone will be able to see Mickey Mouse in the new version. Our award-winning team of filmmakers will showcase Miki’s journey and remind us why he made such an impact on us.
Said Marjon Javadi, vice president of Disney Original Documentary.

Mickey Mouse is a symbol that we see every day in our lives. We all know Miki, but he means different things to different people. We felt that he deserved a documentary that was joyful and honest at the same time. I am glad that Disney has allowed us to do such a deep analysis.
Said director Jeff Malmberg.
The production will debut on November 18 on Disney +.
