The premiere of the first part of the third season of The Witcher is scheduled for June 29, so Netflix is already talking openly about the future of the series. Sophie Holland, who is in charge of casting, recently mentioned the fifth season of the production in an interview with Deadline. She added that the shooting for the fourth installment of the title with Liam Hemsworth in the lead role will begin soon.

Sophie Holland in an interview with Deadline spoke about the planned seasons of the Netflix adaptation of The Witcher :

We’re about to start filming season four with Liam Hemsworth and, after a short break, we’re moving on to season five.

Fans of the series were very surprised when Henry Cavill decided to resign from his role of The Witcher last year. The actor is a big fan of books, which made him the perfect Geralt for many. Cavill has previously mentioned that he would like the series to reflect the works of Andrzej Sapkowski more faithfully. We do not know the real reason for the actor’s unexpected decision, but Internet users speculate that he may have argued with showrunner Lauren Hissrich about it. Sophie Holland unfortunately could not provide an answer on this topic:

I would love to comment on this, but I can’t. I can’t wait to see what Liam has to offer. He has a lot of fans. The fourth season will be a mix of new characters and familiar faces.
