The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the development of the prequel TO – Welcome to Derry . The series will be available on HBO Max. What dangers await us this time?
Stephen King’s TO prequel TV series has been in the works for months at HBO Max . The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that there will be a Welcome to Derry series. Directed by Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti, who developed IT and IT – Chapter 2, are attached to the project. Producer Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane will co-host the show. Andy Muschietti has been confirmed to direct episodes of the series, including the debut installment.
Given the title of the series, the series is said to be set in the small Maine town where King’s original story takes place. The project aims to “expand the vision” of the source material. While Pennywise the Dancing Clown was a major threat in the original story, it is unknown if the character will be included in this series. It is possible that other dangers await us that are not directly related to it.

As teenagers, we took turns reading chapters of Stephen King’s TO until the thick paperback fell to pieces. THIS is an epic story that contains a lot of things, far beyond what we could discover in our films. We can’t wait to share the depth of Steve’s novel, in all its heart, humor, humanity and horror.
Muschietti revealed.
I’m thrilled that the story of Derry, Maine’s most haunted city, will continue, and I’m thrilled to have Andy Muschietti overseeing the terrifying festivities, along with his trusted mastermind, his talented sister, Barbara. Red balloons all around!
