Living in a toxic relationship
One night, Cecilia Kass (Elizabeth Moss) decides to secretly run away from the house of her psychopathic husband, Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). After a daring escape from her furious husband, Cecilia hides at a friend’s house, where she can finally feel safe. Sometime later, the sudden news of Adrian’s suicide and a huge inheritance shock the woman but at the same time allows her to return to normal life for good. The peace of the young widow, however, is disturbed by unexplained events, leading her to the brink of breakdown and problems from which she may not survive.
The Invisible Man is a suspenseful production, surprising with many sudden twists. The viewer all the time rooting for the terrified heroine who fights against incomprehensible forces. The woman believes that she is haunted by her husband, who in fact faked his death so that he could continue to torment her out of hiding. When friends and family turn away from her, Cecilia must face both the demons of the past and a new, deadly threat on her own.

Murderous gameplay
The latest production with Elizabeth Moss in the lead role undoubtedly attracts attention. The action is built slowly, and the subsequent events get more violent as the plot progresses. This procedure creates a unique aura of mystery and tension that stays with the viewers almost until the end. The amount of blood and fights is limited in favor of a dark climate, but this does not immediately mean that the Invisible Man cannot boast of macabre scenes. The creators willingly treat us with a large dose of violence, especially in the second half of the film, when the tension begins to dissolve and the title invisible man is revealed. It is definitely not a work for sensitive people who avoid the sight of blood and murder.
Unfortunately, despite the amazing atmosphere and action-packed scenes, a few big buts appear during the screening. The biggest downside of the production is the cliché plot, in which there is absolutely nothing revealing. Although we get the main plot with the main character’s psychosis and invisibility, these are just additions that do not have a significant impact on the structure of the story. Many scenes with Cecilia’s persecution are banal, and sometimes downright unreliable. The invisible person appears, it suddenly disappears at random moments, so that sometimes it is difficult to keep up with subsequent events with his participation. Adrian is created to be a psychopathic genius, but he acts mostly chaotically and without thinking.
The element that could save the film is the traumatized heroine played by Elizabeth Moss, but even she looks pretty pale. You can see that the creators tried to write a strong, and at the same time sensitive character fighting with a cruel husband, but they did it halfway. During the screening, we only get a fraction of Cecilia’s story, and this is definitely not enough. It’s a pity, because the plot of escaping a toxic relationship is the axis of the whole story, so if well guided, it could undoubtedly improve the whole story.

I can’t see it well
The Invisible Man was certainly a movie with a lot of but wasted potential. The most striking features are the character’s lack of any psychological depth, banal action scenes and incredible heroes. However, if you turn a blind eye to these elements, we are left with a dark production with a dense atmosphere that will surely appeal to fans of thrillers and slowly developing horror films. It’s definitely not the worst movie of the year, but on the other hand, few people will remember it for longer.
