Once upon a time there was a pearl
The legends describing the pupil of the eye are not scientifically confirmed. It is said to be the oldest and perhaps the most beautiful pearl. To the lucky finder, it heralds a reward – whatever it desires. But those who go on an unsuccessful search may disappear without a trace (and that’s usually what a curse works …). Nobody has confirmed whether the pearl really exists, but the higher the prize, the more willing. One of the people looking for the pupil of the eye is Miranda – a girl who, despite losing a hand to a rose shark, has become one of the best pearl divers. Usually she swam alone, but in order to find the treasure, she decided to cooperate with a certain Syrsa – a talkative girl who cannot swim well … However, she has a mysterious ability that is supposed to positively end the search for the pupil of the eye. In this novel, dangers lurk everywhere, and it’s not just about the depths of the sea. A certain Iberis follows the girls’ every step. Closed in a hardback, the story will surely win over many readers.
Through the eye of the reviewer
Losing our sense of security can have an impact on our entire lives. Loneliness is one of the possible consequences. This is the world Miranda lives in. Searching for the pupil of the eye, he gradually notices that the pursuit of a goal is not only about achieving it. The adventure we get to know thanks to Erlandsson is not only a story about a girl; the motives of friendship, greed, the fight between good and evil, disability, isolation are also key. The change that takes place in the heroine – as in her companion, Syrsa – is noticeable and leads to interesting conclusions: strength is in a woman if she believes in her abilities. Reading the Pearl Fisherman, we regret that this story ends so quickly. The chapters are short, the font is quite large, the graphics (except for the end paper) are missing, so the reading should not last longer than two hours, unless you are going to read The Pearly Catcher with your kids! After all, it is the most suitable position for young readers (over 9 years of age) – both for reading with parents and on their own.
