On September 24 (Sunday), special film screenings will be held in all BNP Paribas IMAX cinemas in Poland as part of IMAX Day. Cinema City is once again organizing an event during which you can return to the most interesting film titles in the IMAX format.
On one day in Warsaw, Poznań, Wrocław, Kraków, Łódź and Katowice, viewers will see as many as five famous films at the special price of PLN 18: Barbie with additional scenes and for the first time in IMAX technology, Avatar: The Creature of Water , Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 , Mission : Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and the family film Wild by Nature – Born to Be Wild . The special price applies to all IMAX films on that day, with a possible additional fee of PLN 4.90 for glasses for 3D screenings.

A documentary and adventure film about the fate of wild animals and the help provided to them by humans. It allows you to see the process of raising young orangutans and elephants, which, thanks to careful care and amazing games, grow up happily and learn to live in the wild. From the film we learn that elephants need to be happy to survive, and orangutans can be good comedians. The three-dimensional image allows for complete integration with the distant, wild nature shown to us.
” Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3″ 3D dubbing
The film adaptation of the famous comic book directed by James Gunn stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Sylvester Stallone. The third part of the adventures of a crazy band of misfits who captured the imagination of viewers around the world appears again in IMAX. The Guardians work to repair the massive damage caused by Thanos – determined to make Knowhere a safe haven not only for themselves, but also for all refugees displaced by the harsh universe. However, their lives are soon turned upside down by echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his gang around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not successful, could lead to the end of the Guardians as they know them.
” Barbie” 2D, subtitles (special IMAX edition)
This film tops the list of most frequently watched productions, but it will only be available in the IMAX format now. The title role is played by Margot Robbie, an actress known from “The Wolf of Wall Street”, “Suicide Squad”, “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood” and “Babylon”. Her partner as Ken is Ryan Gosling, one of the leading admirers of Hollywood cinema. The remaining roles are played by America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell. The production draws special attention to its stunning set design, costumes, and soundtrack performed by pop and hip-hop stars. “Barbie” is not a saccharine film about a perfect blonde, it also raises more serious issues. The main character, tormented by nightmares, must move to the real world, straight from the plastic, hassle-free environment of Barbie World. There she will be surprised by many, not always pleasant, surprises. In the IMAX format, the film will be shown with additional scenes, which, according to the creators, will be approximately 6 minutes long.
” Avatar: Water Creature” 3D, subtitles
The film “Avatar: Water Creature”, the continuation of the greatest film hit of all time, was created by James Cameron in IMAX 3D technology and screenings in this format fully reflect the director’s vision. The film takes place more than ten years after the events of the first part. Against the background of the phenomenal fauna and flora of the distant planet Pandora, the story of Jake and Neytiri’s family and their efforts to ensure the safety of themselves and their children are shown. Representatives of homo sapiens are attacking Pandora again, bringing with them war and destruction. The heroes are forced to escape and seek salvation from other tribes inhabiting the planet. In the film we will see actors known from the previous part: Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang. During IMAX Day, the film will be shown in the 3D HFR (High Frame Rate) version in Cinema City Sadyba, Wroclavia and Zakopianka, and in the remaining 3D versions.
„Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One”, 2D, napisy
Bravura action scenes, amazing stunt effects and thrilling emotions – this is how you can describe the latest part of the famous film saga. Faced with a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to accept that nothing is more important than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most. Every second of the film takes the viewer into a whirlwind of danger, where every decision affects the fate and safety of the world. Apart from a galaxy of Hollywood stars, the film also stars Marcin Dorociński.
