Hugh Jackman’s birthday

On October 12, 1968, Hugh Jackman, a film, theater and television actor, was born in Sydney. Although most fans know him from the role of Wolverine, we can find many more successes in his filmography.

Hugh Jackman was an open and energetic child from the beginning, spending most of his time outdoors. He loved taking part in whatever landscape excursions were organized by the school, which was the Pymble Public School. He later graduated from the elite Knox Grammar School in Wahroonga for boys. He first encountered acting during his education, when he appeared in the school musical My Fairy Lady . However, he became seriously interested in this field during his studies, appearing in the play Notification .

After some time, he was offered a role in the popular Australian soap opera Neighbors . The actor refused, however, wanting to focus on perfecting his technique. At that time, he was taking an acting course at Sydney’s Actors’ Center, after which he started studying drama at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts in Perth. His first postgraduate role was as Gaston in a play based on Beauty and the Beast .

The key to his dream movie career was to participate in the Oklahoma musical ! He was then noticed by producers who hired him to work on the production of the big screen. So he starred in The Cover Hero as Jack Willis and the Kings of Erskineville , where he played the role of Wace. However, the engagement in X-Men turned out to be a real success . He played Logan, also known as Wolverine. This became his most recognizable role in his entire acting career.

However, he did not want to close himself in the form of a superhero. To this end, he starred in Kate and Leopold as the title character, for which he was awarded a Golden Globe nomination in 2002. We could also see him in productions such as Van Helsing , also as the main character or in the movie The Source , where he played the role of Tommy. In 2012, he starred in Les Misérables: Les Miseries as Jean Valjean. For this role, he received 9 nominations, including an Oscar, and won the Golden Globe statuette. We could hear his voice in the animated film Happyfeet: Patter of Little Feet in the role of Memphis and in the production of Praziomekfrom 2019, where he played Sir Lionel Frost. He also participated in the animation Flooded in the Canal. He starred there as Roddy.
