Seasons with a patchwork family
Previous volumes – Rozgardiasz and Ale crew– have already revealed some of the secrets from the life of the patchwork family of badgers and foxes. Now the heroes face a great challenge – they have to prepare for winter. For this purpose, they collectively collect, inter alia, dry ferns to the mink. In addition, foxes get fur, and badgers eat for two, accumulating provisions under the skin. So the children’s comments about the relative obesity of their siblings are not surprising. The prospect of spending the winter under one roof does not seem like an exciting solution at first, but as it can be presumed – the only one. The family has no respite, especially when one of its members – the little badger Borek – catches a cold. The reader reads curiously about the differences in how the two species experience winter: while the badgers rest a lot, the mother vixen enjoys playing with her daughter Rose in the snow and teaches her to hunt.Meles meles.
Reception
The heroes of the latest, fourth volume of the series Mr. Borsuk and Pani Lisica experience the winter season in two different ways – while the badgers rest, the foxes play. The youngest recipients to whom this series is dedicated (look at the label – My First Comic 5+) will surely be delighted with the plot. Human characters were shown in animal masks, and funny adventures teach sympathy and tolerance. In addition, children, not only those growing up in a patchwork family, may find that any problem can be solved if we show respect for each other and seek practical solutions. The next volume in the series deserves recognition and I can certainly recommend it to all parents who care about a valuable message, decorated with beautiful illustrations.
A handful of release notes
The hard cover gives the edition an elegance, to which the readers of the badger and fox series have become accustomed. Before we open the comic, we can admire the graphics in which animal heroes play in the snow, building “snowmen”. The endpaper also attracts attention – as always refined, in subdued colors, charming. The illustrator of the reviewed series is Eve Tharlet, and Brigitte Luciani is responsible for the script. Ernest Kacperski translated. The release deserves 5+ , for which we can thank the publisher – Egmont Polska!
