Sony has officially confirmed that the latest Hotel Transylvania film will appear on January 14, 2022 on the Amazon Prime Video platform. The announcement is the result of many inquiries from fans who were expecting the film’s release on October 1st. Sony previously did not provide any information about the postponement of the release date and has only now done so via Tweeter.
It was already known in August that the animation will not appear in cinemas, but will debut on streaming platforms. The premieres of such large projects on VOD services should not come as a surprise to anyone, because during a pandemic it was a frequently used procedure. It’s also important to remember that, statistically, animations perform better in streaming than films intended for older audiences, so Sony’s decision to skip the cinemas seems to be fully understandable.
At Hotel Transylvania 4 , Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg and Steve Buscemi will speak again. Brian Hull will play the role of Dracula this time.
