The iconic Christmas series Home Alone has been redesigned into a modern FPS, courtesy of a certain UI artist. Home Alone is undoubtedly one of the legendary elements of Christmas , especially in Polish homes. Many Poles genuinely cannot imagine Christmas Eve without watching a classic comedy.
The following project briefly answers the question: ‘What happens when a psychotic child is left alone at home and is forced to fight burglars?’ No one actually asked, but the answer may turn out to be, to put it mildly, interesting. The Christmas classic was turned into some crappy video games years ago . Kevin McCallister has not returned to the gaming market since those years, so I wonder what a modern production based on the Home Alone series could look like .
So, former Batman: Arkham Knight artist Simon Brewer took it upon himself to create a vision for the menu for the hypothetical shooter Home Alone . The conceptual title called Home Alone: Siege clearly draws inspiration from games like Friday the 13th , Evil Dead , and Dead By Daylight .
On the right we see Kevin on the Defenders team, while Marv and Harry are on the Bandit team. The rest of the menu consists of the boy’s gear, including a BB shotgun, a hot glue gun, and various gadgets such as paint cans, firecrackers, and other such aids. According to the artwork, players would also be able to select a map to play. Interestingly, the picture shows not the house of the McCallister family, but Mr. Marley, a neighbor with whom Kevin makes friends in the film. Apparently, there would be no shortage of ideas for locations in such a game.
Even if it’s just one graphic and a shooter with Kevin is not being made, it’s nice to think about what such a production could potentially look like. An asymmetric home alone multiplayer game would definitely shake up the gaming community and beyond. Who knows, it could turn out to be a piece of really addictive gameplay, just like movies still draw viewers today.
