Hogwarts Legacy has been available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X for a few weeks now, but has yet to arrive on PS4 and Xbox One. The versions were originally planned to be released on April 4, 2023. Unfortunately, the plan fell through.
Developer Avalanche Software and publisher WB Games announced via the game’s official Twitter account that these versions have been delayed. Fortunately, the delay is only until May 5. The date for Nintendo Switch – July 25, 2023 – remains intact.
We are grateful for the response of fans around the world. The team works hard to provide the best experience across all platforms. We need more time to do this. The game will launch on PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023.

It remains to be seen how the game will perform on PS4 and Xbox One, as the consoles are no longer the youngest and the game is quite technically demanding. We assume that there will be many more loading screens to present the impressive and open world of the game.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. The game will also be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The Harry Potter movies had the difficult task of getting the words onto the page and creating a visual language for them. Hogwarts Legacy had an even harder task of taking that visual language and making it interactive, ultimately expanding it all into something that is relevant to the game. While there’s still a long year ahead and plenty of great-looking games on the horizon, Hogwarts Legacy is already one of the best games of 2023.
