The pandemic is still not letting go of the event industry: the organizers of the Cytadela 2021 Fantasy Festival announced that the event will not take place this year either. The same happened a year ago.
History likes to repeat itself – we can say about the Fantastic Cytadela 2021 Festival, which will not take place this year either. As the organizers informed, this is due to the uncertainty of the situation and the lack of information about the restrictions that would apply at the end of the upcoming June – because the event was planned for that time.
What is the future of the Citadel? According to official reports, the event lost funding due to budget cuts. For this reason, the costs of organizing the Citadel 2022 will be covered from the purchase of tickets and crowdfunding, which was decided this year. Next year’s edition of the event will take place only if appropriate funds are raised. If this happens, we can expect the next edition of the festival in June or July 2022. So much is in your own hands, fantasy fans! However, do not lose your optimism, because the organizers themselves believe in next year’s success. As they say:
Citadel 2022 will take place even if the invasion of an alien civilization has touched us – at most they will come to a good party.
Fortunately, we also have other good news. First of all, tickets purchased for this year’s edition of the Citadel do not expire. You will be able to use them next year or soon – at the Twierdza 2021 Fantasy Festival. It is an event of the same organizers as the Citadel, which is scheduled for 3-5 September this year.
