Crimson Company is a card game that has been available in the analog version for several years. It was created on the basis of the classics of collectible card games (CCG), such as Magic: The Gathering , Hearthstone or Gwent. However, it has been improved with less randomness and the leveling of opponents by increasing the weight of the player’s abilities as opposed to the time spent collecting cards. Players use one common set of characters that are open, which makes the strategy more important – the opponent will not be able to surprise anything, and winning depends on the game plan and decisions made as a response to the opponent’s move in a specific game. However, as the developers themselves point out, it is difficult to find many opponents in the physical version, in addition to those who will not differ significantly in their experience in the game.
That is why the mobile version was created. It is further characterized by dynamic duels that do not rely on remembering the best ways to win, but allows you to play with people from every corner of the world, as well as artificial intelligence (these fights will be both training and development in the game map). The direct duels option has also been turned on, which will allow you to maintain competition among friends.
Beta tests have been underway in the last few months, which allowed us to introduce new features, expand the pool of available cards, fix bugs and improve the quality of the game experience. Early access to the app has started today, as has the Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the next expansion of Crimson Company and the creation of a PC version. This is the fourth time players will be able to show financial support for product development. The funds collected so far have been used for the physical version of the game – the deluxe edition and two add-ons. Of course, for people who decide to donate, there are various bonuses that can be read about on the campaign website.
The mobile game will be available for both Android and iOS devices . For smartphones with access to the Google Play store, there is now an option to perform microtransactions, which make it easier to unlock new cards faster. However, this does not affect the abilities of a specific player, because the deck used in the duel is a combination of cards of both users. According to the ideas of the originators, this solution makes:
(…) players do not have to constantly invest time and money to be in the lead and have good cards, and at the same time have equal chances in each of the games.
