Ever since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, the production of any movie or series has become a real challenge. Lockdowns made it difficult to start shooting, and if someone on the set fell ill, everyone had to be tested and production was stopped more than once. This time a dangerous virus appeared among the cast of The Witcher , but apparently Henry Cavill (Geralt of Rivia) is also infected. Netflix has already confirmed that work on the third season has been suspended.

According to Redanian Intelligence , one of the most reliable sources on the The Witcher series , this week Netflix was going to be shooting the essentials for season three. Apparently, shooting on Monday has not started, and it’s all because of the coronavirus.

According to The Hollywood Reporter article , Netflix confirmed this information, although it is still unknown whether the rumor about a positive Henry Cavill test is true. The creators emphasized that they would return to work as soon as it was safe again. At the moment it is not known when it will happen, although we can guess that the break will last two or three weeks, as it happens in such cases. This means there will be no significant delay to the third season’s release.

What awaits us in the third installment of the adaptation of the adventures of Geralt of Rivia? Monarchs, mages and all other beasts from the Continent are trying to find Ciri, Geralt will protect her at all costs. Yennefer will take the little girl to Arethusa to explore her magical abilities more deeply. Of course, the heroes are faced with troubles that they will have to endure together.

It is not yet known when the third season will be available on Netflix. The first two seasons and The Witcher: Bane of the Wolf animation are available on the platform.
