The creator of the original Hellraiser , Clive Barker has joined the team working on the series from HBO. He will act as executive producer. Interestingly, this is the first time since 1996 that Barker will be included in the film’s co-creator.
The series will not be a reboot of the entire brand. Instead, it is to be a continuation and extension of the existing world. Of course, Pinhead will continue to be at the heart of the production, while at the same time connecting the past with a new project.
The team working on the new Hellraiser, in addition to Barker, includes David Gordon Green, who will direct the pilot of the series and the first few episodes of it. Michael Dougherty and Mark Verheiden are responsible for the script. The other gentleman will also be the image showrunner. All of the above-mentioned creators are also to act as executive producers. They will also be supported by Roy Lee, Lawrence Kuppin, David Salzman, Eric Gardner, Andrew Farah, Adam Salzman, Danny McBride, Jody Hill and Brandon James.
