WarnerMedia Group unveiled cards for its new streaming service - HBO Max. Productions based on DC comics, the South Park series and more will appear on the new platform.
HBO Max will have a very rich offer right from the start. The productions based on DC comics will probably have the greatest representation on the site. What exactly? Subscribers will be able to access all Superman and Batman movies from 1978 on their first day, including Christopher Reev as Man of Steel, Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher’s Batman productions, and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Other DC hero movies released in the last ten years will become available in the first year of the site’s operation. At the start of the website, this year’s hit – Joker will also be available .
WarnerMedia does not intend to rely solely on long-known mega-productions. HBO Max will be the next home to superhero series. The most important of them seems to be the one about the Green Lanterns. Not much is known about it yet, other than that it is already planned. The producer of this project will be Greg Berlanti, one of the creators of the constantly growing Arrowverse CW station. Another of his pictures is to be the series Strange Adventures , which is to be an anthology and tell the stories of various characters created by DC. In addition, the comedy DC Superhero High from Elizabeth Banks will also be added to the pool of new HBO Max productions . This time we will get a comedy about young people discovering that they have super powers.
The new website will also feature animations for both children and adults. The library will even include all seasons of Rick and Morty and South Park . It is worth mentioning that the first of these productions will also continue to be available on the Hulu platform.
As for the younger audience, which is scheduled for two series based on the characters from the Looney Tunes ( Looney Tunes ) and the Hannna-Barbera. Bugs Bunny and company will be presented in a fairly classic style. Looney Tunes Cartoons is to consist of eighty episodes lasting eleven minutes each. The stories will be full of all sorts of gags that Warner Bros. characters are well known for. Crazy heroes will be voiced by, among others Eric Bauza, Jeff Bergman and Bob Bergen. The executive producers are Pete Browngardt and Sam Register.
The second animation created with children in mind is Jellystone . The series is described as a comedy in which various characters from Hanna-Barber’s production will appear. They will live, work, play and get into all kinds of trouble together in the title Jellystone. Among the characters to appear here are Yogi Bear, Boo-Boo, Augie Doggie, Doggie Daddy, Ruff, Yakky Doodle, Shag Rugg, Jabberjaw, El Kabong, Top Cat, Captain Caveman, Cindy Bear, Mildew Wolf, Pixie, Dixie and Mr. Jinks, Peter Potamus, Snagglepuss, Magilla Gorilla and there could be even more.
Classic animated series will also be on offer. 250 short productions of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies from 1930-1969 will be at your fingertips. There will also be some old productions from Hanna-Barber, including Flintstones , Jetsons, Josie and the Pussycats, Popeye, Scooby and Scrappy Doo and Yogi Bear .
HBO Max is also going to get a hybrid of an acting series and an animation (to be in a similar style to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? ). In Tooned Out, we will follow the actions of Mac, who is helped by iconic characters from various animations through a difficult period in his life. Robert Zemeckis is to be in charge of this project.
The announcement of the website from WarnerMedia looks very impressive. So when will the first subscribers get access to HBO Max? The launch is scheduled for May 2020. Unfortunately, this date does not include the start in Poland and it is not known when the service will be officially available in our country.
