Yesterday we found out that the Game of Thrones prequel with the working title Bloodmoon was canceled after the pilot was produced . The production set in the Age of Heroes of Westeros ultimately did not appeal to the owners of HBO. However, today there is much more interesting news for fans of the universe. It turns out that the station pre-ordered the entire first season (to be ten episodes) for another prequel, called House of the Dragon !
The production tells about the Targaryen dynasty based on the book Fire and Blood by George RR Martin. Importantly, the writer is involved in the creative process and is responsible for the script with Ryan Condal ( Colony series ). So we can expect that the series will be consistent with the literary prototype, and even if the next seasons are written before the second volume of Fire and Blood , the events will coincide with the author’s vision. Condal is also one of the showrunners of the show, alongside Miguel Sapochnik. Sapochnik is known for directing several highly rated episodes of Game of Thrones – Hardhome , Battle of Bastards , Winds of Winter and an average received episode The Long Night . It is certain that he will direct the pilot House of the Dragon and several other episodes of the first season.
At the moment, nothing is known about when the show may see the light of day, or who will appear in it.
