Hayden Christensen, who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the first three Star Wars movies , has returned to the universe in a new blockbuster from Disney + Obi-Wan Kenobi . To the delight of fans, the actor recently admitted that he was most interested in working on a project that would focus on the dark character of Darth Vader.
Hayden Christensen was asked by The Hollywood Reporter if he would like to work on a series in which Darth Vader would be the main character. Fortunately, the actor is enthusiastic about this idea:
Definitely. Being able to do more with this character would be great!
Christensen added a few more words about the state of Vader in the Obi-Wan series – the Sith Lord goes to great lengths to kill any part of Anakin and the goodness that remains in him:
I always see Anakin as the inner layer of this character. Vader goes out of his way to kill that side of himself, but there must always be a bit of Anakin in him. […] I always think about the aspect of Anakin in this form.
Earlier, the actor in an interview with HeyUGuys also confessed that he did not expect that he would ever return to this role. When Lucasfilm invited him to collaborate on a Disney + production, he was really surprised:
It was definitely a surprise. You know, for so long, I didn’t think I’d ever get back into that role. But definitely somewhere in the back of my head, I was hoping someday this opportunity would come up. This whole project [“Obi-Wan Kenobi” – editor’s note] ed.] was an incredibly emotional experience. This is a hero that means so much to me and certainly to many others as well. This is a hero that resonated in our pop culture in a very unique way, so being able to continue my adventure with Darth Vader is very cool.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series can be viewed on Disney +. For now, the thread about the series about Vader has only been touched upon in an interview with the actor and it is not known whether the studio will plan such a project.
