Developer of the game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite announced today its planned shutdown, to which only a few months remain. While players will be able to use the app until it expires, as of December 6, it will no longer be available in the App Store, Google Play and Galaxy Store, meaning you won’t be able to install it or purchase any offers. A number of changes have also been made to allow players to use resources more efficiently. However, no information was given about the reason for which it was decided to withdraw the game. On the official website you can read, among others:
Today, we announce that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will be discontinued on January 31, 2022. (…) [In creating this game – NN] we wanted to let players experience the wizarding world in the real world around them by going out and exploring their surroundings. Over the years, millions of witches and wizards from around the world have participated in real adventures, together keeping magic safely hidden from the outside world. (…) We are very grateful to every member of our community.
However, it may be a consolation that despite the resignation from the title, the developers from Niantic do not intend to leave the game on its own. Users will be able to take part in several events scheduled for November and December, and further changes are to come into force in January.
