Group hide and seek with stuffed animals – review of the game “Find a soft toy”

What if all of the world’s sweetest stuffed animals were hidden in your room and only you could find them? It may seem strange, but when you are 3 years old you suddenly have curiosity, a hint of adrenaline and your brain starts deducing a solution. Muduko came out with an interesting game for the little ones, but will older audiences also like it?

It’s their fault

The creator of the game is Xavier Violeau, and the French illustrator Pauline Berdal is responsible for the graphics. Find a soft toy is considered a deductive and cooperative game for children, in which children cooperate with each other, not compete. By working together, they can solve the mystery faster and enjoy group entertainment. Sounds beautiful, but how is it in practice?

Interesting middle with huge eyes

In a small box there is an interesting and easily described instruction, tiles: twenty-five tips, one night, tokens: five stuffed animals and furniture, one clue. The fun begins with placing the bottom of the box resembling a children’s room. There are stuffed animals next to it: a frog, a giraffe, a rabbit, a lion, a teddy bear, and on the other side of the hideout: a brick, a desk, a chest, a bed, a wardrobe. Later, a clue is drawn, which remains a secret, and is covered with a pillow. Then you take seven hint cards, place one next to the other, remembering one rule: a stuffed animal or hideout cannot appear more than three times, and finally the night icon lands.

Where did you hide?

Now the play of detectives begins, where deduction is strongly recommended. You take the exposed tiles one by one and put them on the facedown one. It is at this point that it is determined whether the type of hidden animal is sought first, or where it is. If we are interested in the first option, then we compare the sides of the cardboard. If the asterisk is intact, it means we hit our jet. However, if it is otherwise, then the stuffed toy lands in the box with its back side up. When we are interested in the location, we check the top and bottom to get a full moon, similar to the previous behavior. It should be remembered that in one game, you only have seven rounds and you need to plan your moves well. When no solution is found, a new batch begins.

More briskly in the group

The greatest fun of the whole game is the opportunity to search for this particular stuffed animal in the group and the place where it hid. Nobody is competing with each other, they only spend time in a pleasant way. The game also teaches deduction and thinking as well as combining facts. I do not hide that this way of entertainment will quickly appeal to children from the age of three, and discovering unknown cards will be fun. As a result, the child develops faster and learns to think creatively. The mechanism of the game is not too complicated, but therefore very accessible to the youngest.

Muduko surprised me again, and positively, because I believe that there are not many good games on the market for the youngest audience. This time, the 3+ proposal perfectly fits the dedicated age group, and even the younger ones can find joy during the games. The title is intended for up to four players, but in my opinion it is a contractual option. One person and a larger group will do just as well.

Now let’s devote the proverbial minute of silence to admiring the performance because it is a very strong point. The whole thing is professional, elements made of stiff cardboard do not break or bend. Even the box-room is immune. And those graphics that immediately grab your heart. When the game package arrived, I just melted while staring into the big eyes of the mascots or observing the details of the location. My son was laughing at all the animals, so the visual side will definitely appeal to little players and encourage them to play together. All the colors combine nicely and there is no bulbous recoil effect. It is worth noting that the title is certified by Ecofriendly Game and is made in Biodical Coating technology, i.e. the elements are covered with a varnish with bactericidal and virucidal properties, and as you know,

And for dessert…

It seems to me that older children can quickly figure out the mechanism of action and they will get bored of the game, but the younger audience will definitely have a great time. Find a  stuffed animal in an accessible way stimulates the development of the youngest, and good fun and beautiful workmanship make them spend a longer time with one activity. The lack of competition is a huge advantage with this age group. I highly recommend it to parents, guardians or a family that has a small toddler in the immediate vicinity. It will definitely be a beautiful gift for a small price, about PLN 30. The compact size makes the game easy to take with you. I would highly recommend.
